We are now looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head Accountant and a team lead of the parent company general ledger accounting team to join our Finances in Helsinki. The team currently consists of three professionals working with accounting processes and is a strong part of Group Financial Control & Operations team with over 30 people and managing the Group’s global financials.   The General Ledger Accounting team is developing fast as we are improving our financial operations and controls with AI. As the Head Accountant and a lead of a small but efficient team, you will have a unique chance to play a key role in the AI finance transformation develop accounting function in your role.   What you’ll be doing:  As the Head Accountant, and a team lead, you are responsible for recurring tasks and taking part in the development of the Accounting function and processes. In this role you will be responsible and work with selected accounting responsibilities like:  Owning and participation in the month-end closing process  Ensuring quality and accuracy of the financial accounting   Overseeing and supporting the processing of bank statements, and the payment process, fixed assets  Processing of payroll bookings and accruals, intercompany transactions and reconciliations  Owning parent company CIT and VAT calculations, and filings  Regulatory reporting  Owning, developing and supporting team and stakeholders in accounting related questions  Ensuring proper substitutions in place, training and supporting the growth of colleagues and team members  Managing selected accounting related projects, e.g. shortening the closing reporting timeline, improving the bank statement processing and reconciliation processes and the accounting related control environment  What you’ll bring to the table:  Suitable degree in accounting   At least 5 years of experience in accounting  Advanced understanding of FAS accounting standards, statutory reporting, and taxation   Previous team lead experience  Fluency in Finnish and English  Ability to work under tight deadlines in a timely and precise manner  Independent, proactive, and enthusiastic work-attitude   Good IT skills, experience of NetSuite seen as advantage  Experience in development projects Experience of an international environment, IFRS reporting and especially group consolidation are highly valued to understand the RELEX context  What we offer you in return:  A unique chance to join a fast-growing software company and a professional finance team where you have ownership of your own working area and are able to develop processes  An international career and learning opportunities with an employer who’s genuinely keen on supporting your growth and the use of AI  A fun, ambitious and committed team of smart people to work with   Flexible working hours, freedom in organizing your own work and possibility to work remotely.  Other add-on benefits like mobile, sport & culture, bike, and ergonomic equipment to your home office  A position where you can help retailers fight against food waste  Are you the one we’re looking for?
